Where Did We Come From? Where are We Going?
The Millstone Basin Area affiliate was formed in October, 1990, carved out of an area of Mercer and Middlesex counties not previously served by Habitat for Humanity. Read below to learn more about our history, our progress and current milestones.

Millstone Basin Area affiliate formed. |

December 1991 |
Official affiliate status is granted by Habitat for Humanity International. The affiliate becomes self-sustaining, responsible for meeting all the obligations of a Habitat chapter. |
January 1992 |
Work begins on Project 1: the rehabilitation of a vacant, fire-damaged two-family
home on Rte. 130 in Robbinsville Twp. |
March 1993 |
The Turners, the affiliate's first partner family, move into one side of a newly renovated home. The event is celebrated with a home-dedication ceremony. Work immediately begins on the other side of the home to make it available for rent to a selected family awaiting permanent housing. |
April 1993 |
Land is purchased on the corner of Airport Road and Evan Avenue in East Windsor to accommodate three new homes. |
October 1993 |
Martha Rudolf and her daughter, Ivory, move into the second side of the Turner home, with the rent used to offset the Turner's Habitat mortgage. |
May 1994 |
Building blitz for Project 2, Martha Rudolf's future home, begins on one of the three lots purchased by the affiliate in April 1993. |
September 1995 |
Martha Rudolf and her daughter move into their new home, finishing Project 2. |
October 1996 |
Construction on Project 3, the future home of Barry and Beatriz Davis, begins with a week-long blitz. |
October 1996 |
National homebuilder Centex Homes donates a parcel of land on Evan Avenue, across from the three lots owned by Habitat. The land will eventually be subdivided so four houses can be built. |
August 1997 |
Barry and Beatriz Davis and their two daughters, Brittany and Brianna, move into their new home as Project 3 is completed. |
July 9, 1998 |
Ground is broken for Project 4, Birdie Davis' future home. |
August 1998 |
Final approvals are received from East Windsor Township, allowing for the subdivision of the land donated by Centex Homes. |
October 1998 |
Work begins on Birdie Davis's house, Project 4. |
January 1999 |
Project 4 is finished and the Davis's take ownership of their house. |
February 1999 |

April 21, 2001 |
Work begins on Channel Howell's house, Project 5, with a Blitz Build. |
