What is Youth United?
Youth United (YU) is a Habitat for Humanity program for youth ages 5-25. The YU leader and team motto is: “Raise Awareness, Raise Funds, Raise the Roof.” YU leadership opportunities (and year-round family activities) teach our youth to help fulfill a family’s dream of home ownership, create lifetime friendships and have fun while contributing to eliminate poverty housing in our local area.
What's Next?
Awareness, Fund Raisers, Builds and Beyond
When land is purchased or renovation efforts are underway in the affiliate, you can be sure that the Youth United groups will be involved in building! But we do much more, like assisting with each groundbreaking and dedication ceremony for partner families, holding bake sales, running tool & yard sales, selling pins at our annual pancake breakfast, and continuing our action planning each year.
Just look at the ways that you can join YU teams!
Schools, community groups and church groups – if you’re from ages 5-15, find out if your town or school is involved in our landscaping projects, greeting and feeding our build teams, or are doing their own fund raising.
Your High school – check out your clubs and see if you can become involved in the YU efforts, join the Habitat for Humanity Youth United club at your school, or start some Youth United efforts with your friends and classmates.
Our leadership program involves writing grants.
Our YU groups have received awards and recognition for their efforts while learning leadership skills.
